Take it Easy but be Consistent
Pressure can be a necessary motivator for many of us. It can drive us to perform better, improve our performance, and reach our goals. But more often than not, we take on more pressure than we can handle and in the end, our goals are harder to reach than we anticipate.
It can be tempting to let the pressure build-up, to justify it as necessary for our dreams and accomplishments. But when this pressure is too much, it can become a detriment. It can cause us to feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Our goals can seem out of reach and never come to fruition.
One of the best mantras to lead a balanced life is – Take it easy but be consistent with your goals. It is important to take a breather or a break regularly. This will aid you to clear your mind and reset your goals.
Being ambitious is good but don’t put too much pressure on yourselves to achieve goals. Practice self compassion (eg- I am happy that I achieved these goals) instead of being self critical (eg- I am such a lazy and useless person who never achieves the goals. I will never be successful).
Taking small steps and time to appreciate your progress is the best way to stay on track and not give up. It will ultimately bring greater success and fulfillment.
Look at Solutions, not Problems
Other good habits that we all must adopt are to look at solutions instead of focusing on problems. We all experience problems in life, but it’s how we approach them that makes all the difference. When faced with a problem, many of us automatically reach for the most negative solution. We think about how we will have to strictly limit ourselves or sacrifice something. This type of thinking can set us up for failure. We create our lives through our thoughts, feelings, and words. So, slowly create a habit of using positive words as they have a lot of power.
When approaching any problem, it’s important to consider the various solutions that are available. But you would be unable to come up with a solution if you are stressed. Being anxious clouds our minds and doesn’t allow us to focus or think clearly. When you try to do this initially, negative thoughts and old habits will keep coming into your mind. It happens because these habits are automated and part of your life. But think positively, and use positive words, and if you’re feeling anxious. STOP and focus on your breath. This will help you relax. And then, think of the best solutions that may have the best outcome and make sure to research them thoroughly.
So the next time you face a problem, focus on the solutions and see how much better you end up feeling.
I adopted these habits and the below ones last year and saw my life transforming. As a result of these changes, I feel calm. Even If I feel anxious, I am able to bounce back much more quickly. Implement these in your life and see the changes yourself. You can also watch my Youtube video on the 5 powerful habits and this doesn’t includes meditation or journaling.
Don’t Rush
Life can be extremely busy but it’s important to remember to slow down and take your time. We may rush due to many reasons – poor time management, panicking for no reason or it can be just a habit. Rushing to do something often leads to mistakes, whether that’s a mistake in a task caused by being rushed or a mistake in judging a situation.
Rushing rarely produces the best results and more often than not causes more issues for future tasks. In doing tasks, it can be beneficial to go slow and double-check each step. This makes sure that mistakes aren’t made and that the task is done correctly in the most effective way. It also allows time to process the task at hand and thinks of new ideas. This is one of the best habits of successful people. They plan things ahead and do things in a calm manner.
Next time, you feel that you’re rushing. Consciously stop yourself. Take a deep breath, become calm, and then move on. I have shared a personal incident in my Youtube video so you can watch that.
Don’t sweat over small things
This is one of the good habits that one should develop to be happy in life. We often hold onto situations and worries that are not worth the time and effort, only to drag ourselves down. Our day didn’t go as planned, had to work overtime, a colleague commented on our presentation, got less “likes” on our latest post, a friend ditched at the last moment and the list is endless.
If you want to know- how to be stress free, this is one of the answers. This attitude change to let go of the small things is crucial as supports us to create a healthier mindset and build more energy to focus on the bigger things. Focus on what you can control and accept that some things are simply out of your control. It’s not easy, but it will help to give yourself permission to move on. Instead of worrying about the small things, focus instead on gratitude and celebrate the small wins in life.
These are the things that will bring you joy in the long run. This will help to keep you to be present at the moment. Remember to take care of yourself and make your mental health a priority. So, start this practice today!

Look at positives instead of negatives
Many might feel that using positive words, to think positively, etc are so overrated but trust me, they work. You can try for yourself to see the changes. Every day should be approached with a positive outlook and that doesn’t mean ignoring the negative aspects of life — they exist. But if we can focus our energy on looking at the positives, we can make life much more enjoyable. Be aware of any negative thinking and try to focus on positive thinking
When things don’t go as planned, take a step back and assess the situation before reacting. But if something good happens, be grateful and enjoy the moment instead of focusing on the flaws. Always, enjoy what you got, or could do, or see instead of what was missed. By opting to look on the bright side, you will appreciate things and often find a silver lining in a challenging experience. Grab more opportunities and be happy.
For those who find it difficult to look for the good in challenging situations, try to practice gratitude. Make a list of things you can be thankful for and acknowledge how far you’ve come in life, even if it’s not as far as you’d like.
Infusing our lives with a sense of positivity can make all the difference. So go ahead, take a moment to appreciate the good in life!
In short, the best habits for life are ones that cultivate mental, physical, and spiritual balance. Take the time to practice self-care and prioritize healthy activities. Establishing good habits can be hard, but with focus and determination, it is achievable. So start today, and reap the long-term rewards of a healthier, happier lifestyle.
